Manufacturing Engineer

Reports To: Senior Project Manager


  • Project Management

  • Manage technical aspects at all stages of product launch

  • Material molding and assembly quality standards

  • Scrap reduction

  • Manufacturing Process and Standards

  • Product documentation

  • BOM Accuracy

  • BOM input for new parts – costing, runtimes, etc.

  • Manages ECR/ ECO process

  • Manages New Part Validation process

  • Quoting – parts and tooling (later)

  • Creation and maintenance of operator and assembly work instructions

  • Create and implement standard work to drive consistency in processes

  • Daily operations support – production floor presence with drive to remove struggles.

  • Work cross-functionally to support quality system improvements (i.e. build best practices and error proofing)

  • Develop, establish, and improve manufacturing processes by analyzing tool design to achieve satisfactory products

  • Collaborate cross functionally regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other items to facilitate effective production processes

  • Collaborate with design team regarding product design and necessary tooling for efficient production and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency

  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for decision-making

  • Develops and facilitates training for new and current products

  • Partners with maintenance, designers, and partner companies to design and build tooling and fixtures needed to support secondary operations

  • Other responsibilities as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field

  • 1-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge and competence in rotational molding and/or plastic molding operations preferred

  • Understanding of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and 8 wastes

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Ability to concentrate on tasks, make sounds business decisions and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations.

Required Physical Demands:

  • Must regularly lift and/or move 10-25 pounds, and up to 50 pounds occasionally

  • Regularly required to stand, use hands to grip, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.

  • Frequently required to walk, sit, talk, and hear

Environmental exposures:

  • Ability to work in environments with high heat

  • Noise level in manufacturing area exceeds 85 dba. Hearing protection is provided
